Southeast
Uplift Neighborhood Coalition
Southeast Uplift Neighborhood Coalition is one of seven coalitions in Portland
supporting ninety-five neighborhoods, with twenty neighborhood associations
and eleven business associations under our umbrella of support. We also maintain
a number of strategic partnerships with other coalitions, organizations, associations
and schools.
Southeast Uplift began in 1968 when a group of neighbors banded together to oppose the Mount Hood Freeway Project, challenging the project’s lack of community outreach and ultimately paving the road for the Max light rail.
